Department of Chemistry Records, 1961-1995

The Department of Chemistry was established around 1934, and currently offers one Bachelor of Arts degree and several Bachelor of Science options, including a secondary education concentration with teaching licensure. Department of Biology Records, 1972-2004

The Department of Biology was established in 1942 and currently offers undergraduate educational programs leading to the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree. This record group includes proposals, memos, surveys, syllabi, evaluations, planning reports, meeting minutes, and meeting agendas for Biology faculty meetings.

Department of Art Records, 1976-1985

Courses in art were first offered at Appalachian State Teachers College in 1929, and the Department of Art was established circa 1961. This record group contains only one accession, the Art Department Administrative Records, which includes administrative information regarding Art Department programs, faculty, committees and curriculum from 1976 to 1985.

Department of Anthropology Records, 1987-1997

Anthropology has been taught at Appalachian State University since 1970, and the department currently operates within the College of Arts and Sciences, offering undergraduate level coursework and degrees. This record group contains two accessions that primarily contain information dealing with the Academic Policies and Procedures Committee of the Arts and Sciences Council and Anthropology Department Faculty meetings, dating 1987-1997.

Appalachian Studies Program Records, 1977-1992

The Center for Appalachian Studies, an interdisciplinary program of University College at Appalachian State University, was established in 1978. The Appalachian Studies Program Records contain committee and departmental files dating 1977-1992.
