John Workman Film Collection, 1930-1959

Dr. John H. Workman was Professor of Economics at Appalachian State Teachers College from 1946 to 1960. The John H. Workman Film Collection includes sixteen 8mm films, both black & white and in color, mostly pertaining to Appalachian State Teachers College and the surrounding area, known as the High Country. There is also one VHS tape which includes copies of five of the films.

Rosa Veal Papers, 1939-1943

Rosa Veal was a teacher at Appalachian State Teachers College in the 1930s and 1940s. The Rosa Veal papers include materials used in her classes and information on ASTC activities and procedures.

Robert Earl Snead Collection, 1969-1999

Robert Earl Snead started at Appalachian State University as a student, earning his Bachlor's degree in 1955, and a Masters in 1957. He later returned to the University in 1966 as director of Alumni Affairs, then in 1971, Vice-Chancellor for Development, and in 1989 he was made executive assistant to the Chancellor. The Robert Earl Snead Collection contain materials related to his career at ASU and include reports, meeting minutes, publications, and correspondence.

Carl Ross Faculty Papers, 1973-1989

The collection includes the records of Carl Ross during his tenure at Appalachian State as a Professor of History and Director of the Center for Appalachian Studies. Materials include records about societies and organizations, academic paperwork, personal correspondence, research, and events.

John A. Pritchett Photographic Collection, 1952-1960

John A. Pritchett Jr. came to ASU in 1955 as the audio-visual director, retiring in 1991. The John A. Pritchett Photograph Collection contains negatives taken between 1952-1960. Subjects include sports, dances, ASTC campus and students, student activities, and faculty.

Richter H. Moore, Jr. Papers, 1960-1991

Colonel Doctor Richter H. Moore, Jr. (1928-1996) was chair of the Department of Political Science from 1983 to 1996. The Richter H. Moore, Jr. Papers contain the professional working papers of Dr. Richter Moore, Jr. including drafts and finished manuscripts, course materials, and correspondence related to the department chair and university committee work.

Thomas McGowan Papers, 1986-1992

The Thomas McGowan Papers document McGowan's positions as the Editor of the SACS 1990-92 Self Study Report and Chairman of the Task Force for the Graphic Identity and an Appalachian Style.

Margaret McFadden Papers, 1910-2009 (bulk, 1977-2009)

Dr. Margaret McFadden was professor of Women's Studies and Interdisciplinary Studies at Appalachian State University, 1975-2009, and for a time, was chair of the Department of Women's Studies. These records contain McFadden's papers relating to her career as professor and chairperson, and date 1910-2009.

James Gordon Lindsay Papers, 1969-1992

James Gordon Lindsay, Jr. began his career at Appalachian State University in 1969 as an Assistant Professor of Physics. His papers contain materials relating to Dr. Lindsay's role as a professor of physics at Appalachian from 1969 to 1992.

Rickey C. Kirkpatrick Papers, 1978-2001

Rickey C. Kirkpatrick came to Appalachian State University in 1980 as an assistant professor of economics. In 1995 he was appointed assistant dean for graduate studies and external programs of the John A. Walker College of Business at ASU.The Rickey C.
