Abstract:

Inez Wieczorek Scrapbook is one book with music notations. This scrapbook contains many newspaper articles, programs, and bulletins of mid-1920s Chattanooga area music recitals. It also contains some of Wieczorek's compositions and correspondence.

Biographical/Historical Note

Inez Rose Wieczorek, daughter of Lieut.-Colonel and Mrs. George A. Wieczorek, performed many pianist recitals in the Chattanooga area during the mid-1920s. She graduated from the Cadek Conservatory of Music and subsequently became part of its faculty in 1926. She was a member of the MacDowell Club and the Chattanooga Music Club.

Scope and Contents

This scrapbook contains many newspaper articles, programs, and bulletins of mid-1920s Chattanooga area music recitals. It also contains some of Wieczorek's compositions and correspondence. Some materials are loose.

This collection is open for use in the Dougherty Reading Room without restrictions. An appointment for research is recommended. The Dougherty Reading Room is located on the 4th floor of Belk Library in Special Collections.

Acquisitions Information

W.L. Eury Appalachian Collection purchased this scrapbook from Bookworm and Silverfish on 3-30-2000. The accession number is AC.2004.004. It opened to the public on August 31, 2005.
