Abstract:

The Daniel Boone Hotel Ledger is a 15" by 13" ledger from Boone's Daniel Boone Hotel, dating from 1970s to 1976.  The Daniel Boone Hotel Ledger illustrates the financial situation of one of Boone, North Carolina's former landmarks.  It also includes one black and white photograph and negative of Daniel Boone Hotel.

Biographical/Historical Note

The Daniel Boone Hotel was a hotel located in Boone, North Carolina. It was built before 1925. When J.B. McCoy died, his heir sold the property to the Daniel Boone Condomium company, which demolished the hotel in the early 1980s. The completion of the Daniel Boone Condos was in 1984.

The Daniel Boone Hotel Ledger is a 15" by 13" ledger from Boone's Daniel Boone Hotel, dating from 1970s to 1976.

Arrangement

Materials are divided into two series, Series A: Ledger Series and Series B: Photograph Series. Series A contains records of monthly dispursements of the hotel, and Series B contains a black and white photograph and negative of the Daniel Boone Hotel.

This collection is open for use in the Dougherty Reading Room. An appointment for research is recommended. The Dougherty Reading Room is located on the 4th floor of Belk Library in Special Collections.
