Biographical/Historical Note

Al Dunkleman graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh (1977), A.A. from Virginia Highlands Community College (1996), B.A. in Applied Sociology from University of North Carolina at Wilmington (2000), and a Masters of Arts Degree in Sociology from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC, (2003). He had taught photography, guitar, Spanish, basic drawing as well as worked in the social work field at State Street Church of Christ, Agape of North Carolina in Wilmington, North Carolina, and Pine Valley Church of Christ in Wilmington. Since the Fall of 2002, he has been Sociology Instructor at Cleveland Community College in Shelby, North Carolina.

Scope and Contents

"Ashe County Quiet" Print consists of a folder containing three prints of Al Dunkleman's "Ashe County Quiet" and an order form for "Ashe County Quiet." The area included in the pen and ink design is Barr Evergreens Tree Farm in Crumpler, NC, just a short distance from the old Healing Springs Elementary School.
