Biographical/Historical Note

The Staunton Iron Works Company was incorporated February 19, 1872. Unsure if that company purchased Burke's Iron Works, but all the bills and receipts are signed by same W.A. Burke, and Staunton's letterhead states "(Successors to Wm. A. Burke)".

Scope and Contents

The six statements-bill and receipt- are in good condition, handwritten with the ink slightly fading. One may be for the purchase of stock in the Staunton Iron Works Company to P.H. Skaggs. All are made out to P.H.Skaggs between March 1871 and June 1873.
