Biographical/Historical Note

Mrs. Rebecca Crabill purchased for her daughter several drygoods items seemingly for sewing dresses. These items were purchased from John C. Richardson on May 15, 1857 in Strasburg, Virginia. John C. Richardson was also a hotel keeper in Strasburg.

Rebecca Huddle Crabill was born September 29, 1797 and died March 29, 1866.

Scope and Contents

From the bill of Mrs. Rebecca Crabill, she was planning to sew rather fancy clothing for her daughter-Irish linen, velvet trimming, collar and lace. She purchased all these items from John C. Richardson on May 15, 1857, totaling $14.52. Her purchases also included a hair brush, comb and white hose.
