This is a Certificate of Distinction to Miss Elizabeth Roogher from Lexington (Virginia) White Graded Schools, dated April 27, 1888.  Teacher was Kittie Estill and Principal was C.E. (Charles Emory) Kregloe. It is on heavy cardstock which is browned and torn around edges.

Biographical/Historical Note

Through research on the internet, Charles Emory Kregloe (b. abt. 1858 in Virginia) was found to be an alumni of Washington & Lee University and was principal of the Lexington, Virginia, White Graded School. Miss Elizabeth Boogher was awarded this Certificate of Distinction April 27, 1888, and it is signed by her teacher, Kittie Estill.

Scope and Contents

This collection consists of the Certificate of Distinction awarded to Miss Elizabeth Boogher from the Lexington (Virginia) White Graded School Principal C.E. (Charles Emory) Kregloe on April 27, 1888.  Miss Boogher's teacher was Kittie Estill. This certificate also lists the other faculty assistants and Board of Trustees.
