Creator: Mountain State Story Radio Program

Biographical/Historical Note

Although no timeline or date is given for these programs, they were radio spots which included local and regional history about West Virginia. The broadcasting radio station was in Charleston, West Virginia. From research on the internet, several teachers in West Virginia use scripts of these programs in their history classes.

Scope and Contents

These sixty-plus short radio programs tell snippets of West Virginia's history, places and people. Number one-A is entitled "Mason-Dixon Line" while number fifty-A is about Phineas T. Barnum. Several classrooms are taught West Virginian history by the incorporation of these radio program scripts into their curricula. Maybe Mrs. Omer Arnold was one such teacher when she requested scripts of the program.

The scripts are in numeric order.
