The only information about Isaac Shoemaker available is found in his papers. According to the materials, his debt began in October 1857 with several legal judgements against him until 1889. One paper announces the sale of his land for collection of debts. This all occurred in Harrisonburg, Virginia, which may have been where Shoemaker lived.

The papers of this collection list judgements and bonds of debt of Isaac Shoemaker from 1857 to 1889 in Harrisonburg, Virginia. There is an announcement of the sale of his land at front door of the courthouse in Harrisonburg on February 9, 1889. Also there is a bill for printing the notice of the sale in The State Republican, dated January 23, 1892.
