This collection is a scrapbook of an enlarged photo of Florence Lee Tate's sketch of her African-American nurse maid along with Tate's musical score of Let's Git Along Ter Glory (copyright 1950), dedicated to this lady.

Biographical/Historical Note

Florence L. Tate was an author, composer, and poet from Chilhowie, Virginia. She is the author of Random Reveries, True Incidents, and Echoes.

Scope and Contents

This scrapbook contains an enlarged photo as well as a smaller version of the original sketch by Ms. Tate of a Mammy along with a song Ms. Tate wrote and dedicated to her, Let's Git Along Ter Glory, saying her mammy woke her each morning with a similar salutation.
