This collection consists of a May 30, 1892 commencement exercise program for Von Bora College (located in Luray, Virginia) and a letter with original mailing envelope to Miss Annie Ayres from Eva.

Biographical/Historical Note

The Von Bora College was a school for girls in Luray, Virginia. Its President wa Rev. J.I. Miller, D.D. It was in operation from 1882-1894. It was originally named the Girls Home School, but the name was changed to Von Bora College in honor of Katarina Von Bora, the wife of Martin Luther.

Scope and Contents

This collection consists of the May 30, 1892 Commencement Exercises Program for Von Bora College in Luray, Virginia, and a letter to Miss Annie Ayres of Fairfax Station, Virginia from Eva (Ayres?), who was a student at Von Bora. The letter is not dated nor the postmark readable on the envelope, but an Eva Ayres/Ayers appears on the commencement program.
