The Bolling & Owens Company Receipts contains two half-page account receipts for Mrs. E.A. Thomas, Wytheville, Virginia, dated November 3 and 18, 1896. Bolling & Owens were Dealers in Dry Goods, Notions, Groceries and Canned Goods in Wytheville, Virginia.

Biographical/Historical Note

The two receipts from Bolling and Owens in Wytheville, Virginia indicated co-owners, W.H. Bolling and Frank Owens. The receipts are made out to Mrs. E.A. Thomas, dated November 3 and 18, 1896. The receipts indicate also purchases and payments on the account. Bolling & Owens were Dealers in Dry Goods, Notions, Groceries and Canned Goods in Wytheville, Virginia. The W.H. Bolling listed as co-owner of Bolling & Owens is William Holcombe Bolling, father of Edith Bolling Wilson, wife of U.S. President Woodrow Wilson in 1915.
