The Stanbery/Stanberry-Younce Families Ancestral Charts and Papers consist of ancestral charts of families' genealogies from Watauga County, North Carolina, prepared circa 2002 by Anita Stanberry St. Lawrence and other family members.

Biographical/Historical Note

The Stanbery/Stanberry-Younce families were part of the Beech Creek and Meat Camp communities since the early 1800's. The Thomas Marion Stanbery family saw 10 of 15 children grow to adulthood, thus, many Stanbery relations are listed within this collection. A more complete history of the Stanberry/Younce families is included in the first folder of this collection.

Scope and Contents

This collection contains genealogical papers for the Stanbery/Stanberry - Younce families of Watauga County, North Carolina. The surname is seen in several variations throughout the family. A narrative description of the Thomas Marion and Nancy Younce Stanberry family is included in the first folder along with the donor's original table of contents of the collection. Some ancestral charts have photocopied pictures.

This collection remains in its original order according to the donor's table of contents in Folder 1.

This collection is open for use in the Dougherty Reading Room. An appointment for research is recommended. The Dougherty Reading Room is located on the 4th floor of Belk Library in Special Collections.
