Biographical/Historical Note

Pedro Thomas Slone (b. April 20, 1879, d. May 1982) lived in Franklin County, Virginia. He was married to Kitty Slone. He spent his adult life working as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. Pedro T. Slone's family lived in Franklin County, Virginia, and he has written several pages of genealogical history of his family in The Way of Life in Turner's Creek Valley Sixty Years Ago.

Scope and Contents

This collection includes two papers of Pedro T. Slone, The Way of Life in Turner's Creek Valley Sixty Years Ago and Historical Sketch of Ferrum, Virginia, which contains a brief genealogy sketch of the Slone/Sloane family. Slone's son, Raymond H. Sloan, wrote a letter to the Franklin County Times (Virginia) in 1969 as an introduction to his father's manuscripts.
