The Soul of the People Oral History Project Records is a collection of three original taped oral histories of Watauga County, North Carolina residents, Paula Fink, Nora Percival, and Eleanor Church for an Appalachian History class in 2009.

The women in this project included Paula R. Fink of Vilas, Eleanor K. Church of Zionville, and Nora Percival, all residents of Watauga County, North Carolina.

Scope and Contents

Three oral history Interviews conducted in May 2009 at the Watauga County Public Library were recorded as part of the Soul of the People Project. Interviews were conducted by Kathy Staley and history graduate students for a history class taught by Neva Specht and librarian Megan Johnson. The collection also includes user and archival CD copies of the interviews. Signed release forms from each interviewee are filed in the collection's control file.

Arrangement

The original, user, and archival CDs are all housed in one CD box.

This collection is open for use in the Dougherty Reading Room. An appointment for research is recommended. The Dougherty Reading Room is located on the 4th floor of Belk Library in Special Collections.
