This collection includes the medical ledger and papers of Dr. T.K. McKee from St. Clair's Bottom, Virginia, dating 1897-1904.

Biographical/Historical Note

Dr. T.K. McKee was born in St. Clair Bottom, Virginia, where he began practicing medicine in 1897. A hospital the T.K. McKee Hospital, was named for him in St. Clair's Bottom, which is still in operation today. He moved to Saltville, Virginia in 1912.

Scope and Contents

This ledger gives entries from 1897 to 1904 of Dr. T.K. (Thomas K.) McKee's patients and payments, in St. Clair's Bottom, Virginia. Not all patients paid in cash, as evidenced by the entries of 1-1/4 bushel of wheat credited for $1.00, credit by colt for $15.00, and many other like payments.
