Todd, North Carolina is a small community that was once a booming stop for the railroad as a timber trade stop, having been incorporated in 1915, then unincorporated in 1971. In the 1920's Todd boasted of two hotels, nine stores, a bank, a mill, a drug store, a taxi service, and other businesses. Today Todd is a general store, a post office, and two churches, along with several dwellings. The Virginia-Carolina Railroad ran one or two trains weekly into Todd for almost twenty years - from 1915 to 1934. Williams wrote a history of Todd, found in folder 1.2.
