Biographical/Historical Note

The Monta Vista Memory Gardens in Galax, Virginia is divided into a mausoleum and five different gardens: The Avenue of Flags, Garden of Devotion, Garden of Prayer, Garden of the Christus, and the Garden of the Good Shepherd. This collection is the print blocks of the Garden of Devotion and the Garden of the Good Shepherd. It was established in 1988.

Scope and Contents

This collection contains two print blocks from the Monta Vista Memory Gardens in Galax, Virginia: the Garden of Devotion Print Block and the Garden of Devotion, both 8.5" x 10".

Arrangement

Both blocks are in one medium-large flat box.

This collection is open for use in the Dougherty Reading Room. An appointment for research is recommended. The Dougherty Reading Room is located on the 4th floor of Belk Library in Special Collections.

Acquisitions Information

Both print blocks were purchased from Bookworm and Silverfish, one in 2007 that was accessioned as AC.2007.015 and one in 2012 that was accessioned as AC.2012.038.
