This collection is a scrapbook of Presidential information and coins, created by R.D. Hodges of Boone, North Carolina, circa 1969, probably as a school project.

Biographical/Historical Note

R.D. Hodges lived in Boone, North Carolina during which time he collected the materials/articles about the Presidents and assorted coins for this scrapbook. It was probably one of his school projects.

Scope and Contents

This scrapbook holds magazine articles about each President of the United States through Richard Nixon glued to index pages, with assorted coins representative of each time period covered in plastic wrap and stapled to the page. The coins have been removed to archival envelopes and are restricted from use. Notes of the original location have been written on each envelope. They are stored in a small box inside the larger collection box. This was probably a school project but no indication other than Hodges' name and city can be located on the scrapbook.

Arrangement

This collection is housed in one flat box, with the scrapbook left intact, except for the removal of assorted coins to individual envelopes with notes as to which page they were originally located, housed in a small box inside the larger box. The coins are RESTRICTED in use.

This collection is open for use in the Dougherty Reading Room. An appointment for research is recommended. The Dougherty Reading Room is located on the 4th floor of Belk Library in Special Collections.
