Manuscript Collections

This collection includes two orders from a Justice of County Court to the Sheriff of Augusta County, Virginia to summons two men to court in March 1856.

The Hillsville Virginia Court Room Shootout Papers includes a CD of scanned images of newspaper articles, wanted posters, courtroom floorplans, and other related papers to this incident in 1912.

This collection is a docket book and loose records, summons, and receipts of court cases brought before Justice of the Peace John W. Hodges in Watauga County, North Carolina in 1925 and 1926.

This collection consists of public appeals to help, brochures and pamphlets explaining court cases and defenses, blank petitions, and a typed chronology of the case of the Scottsboro Boys. Materials are dated 1931-1941.
