The John Gwinn Papers is a collection of receipts, loan notes, purchase lists, land deals, deeds, and lawsuits, and estate papers, dating 1866-1868. John Gwinn was a Justice of the Peace in Greenbrier County, West Virginia.

This is a handwritten note from John Preston to Nelson Right (see signature on back) on a court matter to be in Pulaski, Virginia September 1, 1845. Right acknowledged receipt of this notice on back on July 23, 1845.

This collection includes one handwritten court summons for John White and Annanias McCoy, written by Jonesboro Clerk of Court Francis A. Ramsey, and to be delivered to the sheriff Robert Houston of Knox County in the Territory South of the Ohio. The summons was issued September 24, 1792 August 15th, 1792 and calls John White and Annanias McCoy to appear at the courthouse in Jonesboro on February 15, 1793. Also included in this collection are two photocopied typed transcripts of the same letter.
