Overview

This guide includes both primary and secondary source resources about literature, primarily in the Appalachian region. Manuscripts must be used in the Dougherty Reading Room. To schedule an appointment or for more information, email spcoll@appstate.edu.

Manuscript Collections

This collection consists of a copy of Lunsford's poet The Master's Will written November 12, 1967 and signed by him.

This collection is a three-page, typed manuscript entitled, Garnered Memories, written by North Carolina native Beatrice Adams Harris in 1990, telling of her life and memories.

Beulah C. Campbell is a retired children’s literature and elementary education professor at Appalachian State University. Her collection includes Campbell's personal files, her collection of original illustrations for children's books, materials related to various authors and illustrators of children's books, administrative files related to Campbell's collection of children's book illustrations, and materials related to a memorial for Reverend Paul Burt, a friend of Campbell.

This Blue Ridge Community Theatre Papers includes programs, fliers, banners, clippings, and a script concerning some of the company's productions as well as business papers, grant information, membership lists and correspondence necessary in producing these programs, dating 1983 to 2002.

Bob G. Tannehill Collection consists of eleven typed poems.

The collection consists of two poems, "A Bed Tyme Rhyme" and "Ice Sicle Soup," by Bob Henry Baber. The poems are printed on 11" x 14" card stock with illustrations by Boyd Carr.

The Bonnie Johnson Weaver Poetry and Papers contains a variety of Ms. Weaver's poetic and prose writing samples, articles she wrote for the Harlan (KY) Daily Enterprise and a booklet of original poetry from the 1980s.
