The Robert King Record Book contains one medical ledger book dated 1932 to 1933 for Dr. Robert King of Ellenboro, North Carolina. Robert King had his office in the back of the Ellenboro drugstore.

The Rufus Burks Papers collection contains about 100 letters from and to Rufus Burks and family members while he was serving in the US Army. Other folders contain family tax receipts and other receipts and paper pertaining to life in the 1940's.

The Sloop Memorial Hospital Housing Grant is an application for a Fund Reservation of Sloop Memorial Hospital for over $1 million to provide thirty-six housing units and common space for the elderly.  This collection illustrates how the Appalachian community of Crossnore, North Carolina worked to assist its elderly population.
