Manuscript Collections

The 1903/1904 Watauga Academy Photograph consists of one 10" x 8" black and white photograph of Boone, North Carolina circa 1903. It includes various buildings, such as the Watauga Academy, and Howard's Knob.

This photograph is one of the earliest of Boone, North Carolina. There is slight damage in the lower left corner.

The Wiley Smith Harmon Papers is made up of eleven reel-to-reel tapes and their transcriptions of Smith Harmon of Cove Creek, Watauga County, North Carolina, relating his life history and remembrances and of the Harmon family, covering the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

William Leonard Eury Papers include programs, papers, and photographs collected by Apppalachian State University Librarian Leonard Eury. W.L. Eury was the librarian from 1946 to 1970.
