Spring Semester 2021 Operations
Appalachian State University Community Members (students, faculty, and staff): You may sign up for an appointment to visit the Special Collections Research Center during the spring 2021 semester. Visit this web page for information and to set up an appointment time: https://appstate.libcal.com/appointments/SpecColl. Virtual appointments are also available. Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Non-affiliated Appalachian State University Researchers: For the Spring 2021 semester (January-May), the Special Collections Research Center in Belk Library & Information Commons is not physically accessible to non-affiliated researchers. We are still answering email and telephone requests, but responses may be delayed as App State community members will receive priority attention. If you telephone us, please include your email address (if available) in your voice message.
What you can do:
1. For archives, manuscripts, rare books, or non-circulating material: Write to us at email@example.com to begin a discussion of your research inquiry. If desired, we can schedule a virtual consultation with you to further discuss your request and assist you in identifying materials for duplication. We will try to provide digital copies of materials in lieu of in-person visits when possible. The availability of digital reference copies is subject to copyright, the condition of the materials requested, and usage restrictions. Receipt time of materials may be delayed as App State community members will receive priority attention.
2. Circulating materials: Some materials from the circulating collection may be available through Interlibrary Loan. You can initiate a request through your home library.
3. Not sure where to begin? Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or 828.262.4041.
