Grace Buckner is a New Graduate Assistant!

Grace Buckner is a new graduate assistant in the Special Collections Research Center at Appalachian State University. Grace holds a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Appalachian Studies from App State, and is in her last semester of App State’s Master of Arts in English program. She also serves as an Editorial Assistant for the Appalachian Journal. Grace lives in Madison County, North Carolina and works for the Madison County Public Library, where she helps coordinate programming and assists patrons with local history research. In addition to her work in libraries, she is a writer and professional whitewater raft guide. Her interests are in Appalachian literature, community building and environmentalism, especially in relation to rivers. In her spare time, Grace enjoys reading, participating in local traditional music jams and spending time on the French Broad River in Madison County.
