Kimberly Sims is the new Coordinator of Special Collections and University Archivist. She was born and raised in Durham, North Carolina. She received her Bachelor’s degree in History from University of North Carolina Wilmington and her Master’s in Public History from North Carolina State University.
Her archival career began at the Rubenstein Rare Book & Manuscript Library at Duke University, where she worked to arrange and describe university archives collections. Before coming the Appalachian State University Special Collections Research Center, Kim was a university archivist at The College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.
